Five Vancouver Island University culinary arts and baking students returned from the 19th Annual B.C. Skills Competitions with some hardware.
Hilary Malone, 26, a first-year culinary arts student, topped the podium with a gold medal in the post secondary category for her execution of two dishes, one traditional coq au vin and another with a modern twist.
