A local group of educators working on improving the future of B.C.’s skilled trades received much needed support from the Coastal Community Credit Union (CCCU) this week.

Bob Bennie, CEO of the CCCU (right), and Judy Fraser, Chair of the CCCU Board (left), presented a cheque for $5,000 to Sue Benoit of Malaspina University-College’s Vocational Career Promotion Committee.
The gift will fund production of a video to encourage B.C.’s elementary school students to graduate from high school and to inform them of the many careers available to them in the skilled trades. The committee is currently working with Nanaimo grade six students on production of the video which will go to local schools and across the province this fall.
